Meet Our Staff!

Angela "Max" Maxwell, CEO and Founder

“Max” as she asks everyone to call her has spent a life in service to others. An eclectic Curriculum Vitae with degrees from University of Brighton-MBBS, California Polytechnic State University- San Luis Obispo, Austin Peay State University, Center for Excellence in Field Biology and the United States Medical Academy of Health Sciences has created a Dr. Doolittle of sorts. Life choices of Army (USA) to Armadillos, Education to Elephants and Pathology to Porcupines raised “Max” to cherish every living creature. “I had no idea what a pioneer my father was; we had House Rabbits; not just caged in the garden, but in the house watching TV as far back as the early 1960’s”. Coming from the military medical field, “Max’s” attention to detail led to creating a world view that all living creatures can benefit from a clean, enriching environment. Proficient in husbandry from big to small, Madagascar Hissing Cockroach to African Elephant. Respect not fear for nature is a future that we all can hopefully share. Check out her “Fearless Friday” posts on our Facebook.com/TheBunnyHutch to get a glimpse of what it takes to create a unique concept like The BunnyHutch.

Jennifer Wells, Marketing and Development Coordinator

Jen, grew up in the Hampton Roads area and has loved animals as far back as she can remember. One of her fondest memories is of “Quacky” the baby duck she rescued and set free at the local park. She has owned rabbits, cats, dogs and even a fish or two. Her hamster, Larry, was comic relief to the family as he ran around the house in his little ball chasing their cat. Jen and Max’s path crossed through a previous organization and she was very excited when she found out about The Bunny Hutch. Jen’s background in Business and Marketing, coupled with her love for animals and education, is a great fit for The Bunny Hutch. She is currently holding the position of Marketing and Development Director for The Bunny Hutch and with her style, imagination, dedication and flair the skies the limit.
